Hi Love The Open Media Platform,Im Currently Running Version 4 and i'm considering moving my OMV/Plex setup To a new build as my current hardware is becoming somewhat out of date so would like to know first off is OMV compatible With Intel's 8th Gen Processors ie. Intel Core i7-8700K CPU and second would i need to reun a clean install or could i just pop the new MB an processor into my power an boot it up as normal? any feedback would be much appreciated, thanks

    Hello guys,

Yesterday I installed OMV and today i wanted to install some Plugins. But i ran into an error that i cant get fixed by my self

Here is the Error Message, It shows up when i try to check for Updates or Expansions

    Here is my Sources.list

I already tried to change my Network settings and i tried apt-get updates via ssh console but nothing seems to work out.

Does anyone have some Ideas why this is happening

    Thank you already

    Hi

I just installed OMV using the guide here:

    I installed onto 500GB SSD and I have a 10x pre-populated ntfs HDDs.

I'd like to setup shared folder on the SSD (OMV installation drive) for app data etc... as per the guide.

Unfortunately I can't mount select the SSD (device) to add shared folder (see photo)

Is it a bad idea to do shared folder on the system drive, it's just that it is a 500GB SSD so I only wanted to use a small amount for OMV and have the rest as an a share that doesn't sleep for frequently used files.

    Thanks

    HI folks,

I'm completely new to OMV and debian

Just trying to install to an external USB hard drive and when I select the disk, I get the error:

The partition /dev/sda1 assigned to / starts at an offset of 3584 bytes from the minimum alignment of the disk, which may lead to very poor performance

It then goes on to tell me how to fix it by going back to the partitioner and recreating the partition.

However, when I click <go back> or <yes> to go back to the partitioning menu, it seems to take me to a install menu and anything else I try to do with the disk gives me an error which says "No root file system defined"

At that point I need to exit and reboot.

    Any one help?

    Thanks!

False alarm @flmaxey! I was about to make a clean installaion and saw 3 disks connected, OMV ssd, USB with OMW and a Sata drive. So I missed one of my drives whyle troubleshooting, guess what, that disk was giving all the errors. We're are back on…

@syrusstk That worked but Firefox browser won't allow me to connect, because it claims that I have a self-signed certification, which I do not. The Cert with Letsencrypt is not "self-signed", is it? There was no "exception" button so I could not view the…
