Quote from whitetiger: “I think they are related to baskets that have not been emptied by cancellations. ” What do you mean with baskets? Do you mean these have been shared folders and you removed the shared folder in the GUI of OMV but not the content? In that case you can create new shared folders that are pointing to that folder. Then you delete the shared folder again, but this time you select "shared folder and content".

One way is to use the backup plugin which then is using fsarchiver (or dd or rsync). But this is then a backup of a live system. Better than nothing, but not ideal. fsarchiver.org/live-backup/

Quote from Adoby: “Try to disable ALL changes to Physical Disk Properties for the disk. (Disks -> Edit). ” At least in my case this is done. I did a fresh install and did not enable any of the settings. Unfortunately the disk still is sometimes not mounted after a reboot. Since I apply a "mount -a" it is fine.

  • In Debian Stretch (OMV4) the version of util-linux (including wipefs) is 2.29.2-1+deb9u1. Current stable version of util-linux is 2.32.1. In Debian this version is in the testing repo and has the following note for wipefs: Note that some filesystems and some partition tables store more magic strings on the device (e.g. FAT, ZFS, GPT). The wipefs command (since v2.31) lists all the offset where a magic strings have been detected. So new version with additional functionality. Debian is quite conse…

  • How to partition data disks

    macom - - General

    Post

I use the rsnapshot plugin to create snapshots (weekly, monthly, yearly). Doing this, I am able to go back in time and restore previous versions of my files. One disadvantage of using rsync is, that if a file on the source has been modified in a way you do not like, this modification is synced to your other drive after the specified time. So synchronization is not backup. One disadvantage of rsnapshot is, that you need the CLI to restore your data.
