memcache, will this speed up the proftpd process, worth installing?

I was wondering if someone has a good experience [or bad] with using memcache and ftp?

I noticed the warning each time the OMV boots, and last few days I used ftp with a 10GB file [Transfer time: 1366 sec], it seemed a bit slow.
CPU load was nothing just a few % and I have a gig network connection, so was wondering if that would help.

OMV has 2GB of memory assigned, but can give it more if necessary.

Any advice or suggestions are very welcome.
