Use 2 ethernet ports - reserve 1 for certain processes

  • Hi there,

I'm running happily OMV now for some time on a HP MicroServer Gen8. It has 2 built in ethernet interfaces. Currently I'm only using 1. Connected to a gigabit network.

What i'd like to do is keep using that one for all the traffic - except the traffic generated by ZoneMinder (CCTV ip cam thing). I'd like to route that traffic trough the second. Is that possible, if so : how? Or is this tricky and useless to do?

As you can see there is a lot of traffic when 'idle', just for the IPcams.

3MBbits / second is a lot of traffic?? You have a 1000 Mbits / second to use :)

  • right.... but when it was a simple action I would do it just to see a flat graph for the regular traffic :)
