My first NAS build ... I'm a Hitachi/Netapp guy at work but this is for myself.

2 Questions ... I just tried installing OMV on a 2gb flash drive. I wrote the 2.1 amd64 img using UNETBOOTIN and installed on another flash drive (500mb - which the bios saw also)
Tried booting the 2gb flash and am getting a blinking cursor ... :-/ I need to run this off a flash since all my sata ports are used. Should I try another flash ? Seems weird that it wouldn't boot.
Second question, if I have a live windows usb flash-drive, can I read the ZFS partition made by OMV if I ever needed to ? Considering using Docker now but I'm worried the ZFS would choke out the ram.
