I am unable to make OMV reboot my N54L
Wol is enabled in Bios settings
I scheduled shutdown time in OMV web interface Power Management, and enabled it.
I scheduled reboot time, and enabled it.
System shuts down but does not reboot.
Tried both standby and shutdown settings.
Any suggestion?

You're confusing concepts,
reboot is restart (from a power on system, go down and start again. )
boot, start the computer. When is turned off.
WOL, wake on lan. Depending on the bios, the computer can be suspended in ram, disk or shutdown (poweroff), and sending a special packet in lan the computer can start without physically pushing the power button
A schedule reboot will reboot your computer, not start it from cold (or poweroff).
If you want to do WOL, enable wol in bios, in the network adapter in OMV. Annotate the MAC address of the nic.
Look for a wol program in the internet, then enter the mac address from before and send the special (magic) packet

thank you subzero
i thought reboot meaning was "boot again after shutdown".
so, to boot my nas without physically accessing to it, it seems I have two options: 1) WOL or 2) boot at a scheduled time.for 1) after some work, I am now able to boot from iPad or PC through a menu in my router (Fritz), therefore now I am sure it can be done on HP N54L. I am going to try to do it directly. Can you suggest a WOL program?
How can I do for 2)?
One more question: is it possible to have my nas shutdown or stand-by if there is no further activity for i.e. 30 minutes? I am aware it is made to work 24/7 but sometimes it happens I do not need it for a few days, so why not to spare on electricity?

The WOL plugin includes rtwake, that can wake on scheduled time.
for shutting down the nas on low activity take a look at the auto shutdown plugin from omv-extras
