Can't add samba shares

As Openmediavault unfortunately is not available as UEFI version and my board doesn't support BIOS mode, I had to set it up manually.
Based on Debian 8.2 I installed openmediavault. Basically everything works as I found a good manual online. Just SMB doesn't work. If I try to add a share, I get the message that the configuration had been changed. If I approve, I get the following message:

A server without samba is not really useful, thus I hope for hints. The out of the box openmediavault on my banana pi worked well, but this installation on the x86 was already difficult so far...
The smbd log file showed some cup errors, found this already --> fixed. Still same message above is coming up.

I installed it based on this forum: [Guide] Howto install OpenMediaVault on Debian 8.x (Jessie) TESTING - EXPERIMENTAL
I did install on Jessie, because it's the latest version. I found manuals how to install on Jessie and how on Wheezy. But no hint that Jassie would be a problem.

So you mean that this is the issue? Should I reinstall on Wheezy?

Do you recommend to reinstall on Wheezy?

thanks a lot for the hint.
I tried to install Wheezy, now I have another issue. Wheezy seems not to recognize my eMMC storage. I tried 7.9.
OMV seems to be very difficult to be installed on current HW. No UEFI support, only running on Wheezy which also doesn't support eMMC. Now I'm in a deadlock.

Any ideas?
