There will be a 32bit ISO image for the official release, but not for beta.

Danke; ich freue mich schon darauf!

I know some of you still use the 32bit version, but just FYI, just about any CPU made in 2006 and above can handle a 64bit OS. That even includes the last Pentium 4s and up to Atom based systems. No real reason to stick around with a 32bit binary if your system can handle 64bits

My OMV-System is a 10 year old Notebook with Intel(R)Pentium(R) M processor 1.70 GHz. It can handle 64bits?

That may be a Banias core, which was released in 2004 and according to Intel's spec page, sadly, no x64 instructions within. Like I said before, usually CPUs from 2006 and above (not all of them though).
*Edit: Actually, as early as 2005 with the later revised Prescott CPUs from Intel starting with the Pentium 4 506. Pretty much anything after that to the last Cedar Mill based CPUs. Then Intel made it as a standard option with Core2 and above in 2006.

I think the best reason for people to get off the old cpus is power consumption. The newer 22nm cpus take a lot less power than the older 45nm or above.

I do agree with you on that.
