System not updating

  • Hi guys
I've been running OMV 2.1.20 Stone Burner for just over a month in my office and realised I've not been receiving updates, when I run Check for updates I get the following error message

Any help or advice would be much appreciated

  • Ok I left it for a couple of hours then tried again, this time when I checked for updates I box appeared saying @ checking for new updates with the progress bar moving back and forward endlessly but no updates being offered, I rebooted and tried again but it was just the same

  • Hi WastlJ

It seems to be taking an age to run the update so I've just posted the result up to 40% as it seems to be going round in circles hope that's ok

    Many thanks

Domain names aren't resolving. You need to set your dns server in network settings.

    omv 7.0-32 sandworm | 64 bit | 6.5 proxmox kernel

    plugins :: omvextrasorg 7.0 | kvm 7.0.9 | compose 7.0.9 | cputemp 7.0 | mergerfs 7.0.3

omv-extras.org plugins source code and issue tracker - github

Please try ctrl-shift-R and read this before posting a question.

I've already tried that I set the DNS settings to 208.67.222.222 & 208.67.220.220 (Opendns) and I tried my gateway 192.168.2.1 but that didn't make any difference either

Nello, have you mix the problem? i have the same error when try update my pkg, is possible that the server is down?

sorry but I'm not sure what you mean by "have you mix the problem ?" but my server definitely isn't down I can still access all my shares and log into the Web UI

Try omv-firstaid. Possibly go back to dhcp to see if it is working.

  • Ok I tried DHCP but it's just the same I'm afraid

    root@NAS:~# cat /etc/network/interfaces
    # The loopback network interface
    auto lo
    iface lo inet loopback

    Code
    # eth0 network interface
    auto eth0
    allow-hotplug eth0
    iface eth0 inet dhcp
    iface eth0 inet6 manual
        pre-down ip -6 addr flush dev $IFACE

    root@NAS:~#

    Many thanks

I'm not sure what I'm looking for bur here's the output

    Code
    root@NAS:~# cat /etc/resolv.conf
    search local
    nameserver 194.168.4.100
    nameserver 194.168.8.100
    root@NAS:~#
