  • FINALLY IT WORKED!
But why the nameserver value in the resolv.conf had changed? I don't understand it because I did not modify anything and suddenly, from 18th of December aprox i did not receive notification mails anymore...

    Thanks subzero for your time!

  • I don't know if it's a bug, but modifications in the WEBGUI doesn't appear in the resolv.conf.
Moreover, you made a typo when 'echo': you wrote namerserver instead of nameserver and it worked... It's like magic

Is it correct now after reconfigure?

  • Now, resolv.conf seems like a symlink (using Filezilla with SFTP). The content is the following:

    Code
    # Dynamic resolv.conf(5) file for glibc resolver(3) generated by resolvconf(8)
    # DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE BY HAND -- YOUR CHANGES WILL BE OVERWRITTEN
    nameserver 127.0.0.1
    search Home

After re-adding 8.8.8.8 at the DNS servers via webGUI:

    Code
    # Dynamic resolv.conf(5) file for glibc resolver(3) generated by resolvconf(8)
    # DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE BY HAND -- YOUR CHANGES WILL BE OVERWRITTEN
    nameserver 127.0.0.1
    search Home
    namerserver 8.8.8.8

So I think it's working now...

EDIT: or not at all. If I change Google DNS for OpenDNS (208.67.220.220), I apply config in the web and the resolv.conf is still intact with Google ones. At least the email notification works now.

  • I have the same issue.
I tried with the above steps with port 587, 465, but no luck.

    Code
    ls -la /etc/resolv.conf
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 31 Jun 22 18:33 /etc/resolv.conf -> /etc/resolvconf/run/resolv.conf
