Rsnapshot

  • Hi

my "backup strategy" is to keep the most important data on a disk somewhere in the network. So I configured rsnapshot to keep 48 hours, 14 days, 2 weeks, 12 months and 10 years.
maybe the configuration is correct (I will see in some days - up to now I just have 6 hourly jobs done).
What I would prefer, is not to be informed about every successful backup. I am not interested in "hey, I've done my job, so please pet me". I only like to know, when something went wrong.
Due to I will have more than one backup job in this manner, it would be great if someone could please tell me, what I oversaw in the config to achieve this goal.

btw. if this works like it should it's the best solution out there for backing up data. I had a synology box some years ago. but no comparison in terms of "timebackup" to the solution here!

Unfortunately, it is setup to email or not. Not really sure how to change the code to only email when failing.
