Can the /etc/fstab be custom modified?

  • Can the items in between these be custom modified?
    # >>> [openmediavault]

    # <<< [openmediavault]

Would like to mount the disks to a particular location so that I can use a wildcard to mount to /storage for mergerfs pool, e.g.:

    Code
    /mnt/data/* /storage fuse.mergerfs defaults,allow_other,minfreespace=20G,fsname=mergerfsPool 0 0

i.e. all disks would be mounted to /mnt/data or /media/data and then the mount point would be created as /storage for the mergerfs pool.

You can modify anything outside those tags. Everything inside the tags is generated from the entries in config.xml (which can be modified.

If you change defaults in /etc/default/openmediavault before the filesystem is generated, it will use those defaults (especially mergerfs).

The location has been talked about many times. You cannot change it. Make a mergerfs pool. The pool will have a /media/uuid mountpoint. Then make a symlink to /storage.
