Hi, the question is in the right place, unfortunately the answer is: No you cannot import an existing ZFS Pool with OMV - out of the box.
However, you can try to go to the experts on this in this thread http://forums.openmediavault.org/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=131 ... But it will be a not easy task to achieve it and I am also not sure if ZFSonlinux is compatible with the BSD ZFS implementation.
Okay, thank you.
I was able to do this successfully on Debian Wheezy using the instructions here:
http://www.forums.nas4free.org…=64&t=2025&p=10095#p10095
It was a piece of cake.
OMV is currently based on Debian Squeeze, but the instructions that SerErris linked to should work great for that.
Either way, you'll probably have to force import the zpool using the -f flag.

Looks like NAS4Free uses ZFS v28. The latest ZFSonLinux is on at least v28 so you should be good to go. The only issues with ZFS are if you go from a higher version to a lower version. Had this problem with FreeNAS which was on v15 for ages and only just went to v28 with their 8.3.0 release.
