Once you swap drives, post the output of cat /proc/mdstat. You might be able to just use the recover button in the web interface.

It didn't add it automatically. So, what is the output of fdisk -l
-
Code

Now I would try:
mdadm --stop /dev/md127
mdadm --assemble /dev/md127 /dev/sd[acdefghij] --force --verbose -
Code
Alles anzeigenroot@NAS:~# mdadm --stop /dev/md127 mdadm: stopped /dev/md127 root@NAS:~# mdadm --assemble /dev/md127 /dev/sd[acdefghij] --force --verbose mdadm: looking for devices for /dev/md127 mdadm: no RAID superblock on /dev/sde mdadm: /dev/sde has no superblock - assembly aborted
sde is the one i replaced.
-
Try:
mdadm --assemble /dev/md127 /dev/sd[acdfghij] --force --verbose
If that doesn't work, try:
mdadm --assemble --scanIf that doesn't work, I have other things that may work but more dangerous.
-
that worked! so now i wipe and add the drive i swapped yes?
-
Just for my knowledge, which one worked?
Post cat /proc/mdstat just so I can be sure what to have you do.
-
mdadm --assemble /dev/md127 /dev/sd[acdfghij] --force --verbose is the one that worked.
-
It is still read only. Try:
mdadm --readwrite /dev/md127
If that works, click Recover in the web interface to add the newdrive to the array.
-
That worked, didn't give me any errors. In the process of recovering the raid now. thanks. here's to hoping it works
