another install for OMV (only 4 disk and raid10)

    • OMV 2.x
    • another install for OMV (only 4 disk and raid10)

      what i did

      - download the iso and extract it
      - go into the file install/preseed.cfg
      - to the section "### Partitioning" comment all lines and save
      - burn the new iso with this command line from debian's wiki

      # genisoimage -o test.iso -r -J -no-emul-boot -boot-load-size 4 \ -boot-info-table -b isolinux/isolinux.bin -c isolinux/boot.cat ./cd

      - with a live cd i create a GPT for each disk
      - boot on the cd and to partitionning do what you want
      - in my case i create

      sda1
      sda2
      sda3
      sda4
      1MB boot-bios
      2GB swap
      1GB raid10
      max raid10

      - do the same thing for sdb, sdc and sdd
      - i choose to install OMV (file system /) on /dev/md126 (sd[abcd]3) with ext4
      - finish the install

on the web-gui prepare the /dev/md127 (sd[abcd]4) as you want (eg one partition ext4 for data)

so, i have one install without usb key
what do you think ? and how can i do better ? (learn preseed, partman, debootstrap, ...)
you might also copy grub on another disk (to change boot order if one disk crash)

thanks to write this post in a good english if you want ... sorry !
