  • So if there updates of the packages inside openmediavault-plexmediaserver for example, it doesn't automatically update to the latest version of plexmediaserver.
How would you go about updating when a new release has been made by the developers?

The openmediavault plugin states how on its Settings Info page but it need's editing with the base update to Jessie in OMV3.

    Origanal:

It would need to be updated for systemctl and any other changes made.

Would there be any other changes, because if there's little changes like this in documentation as well I could help out.
You guys use Github for plugins right?

You are better off to wait for us to put the plex update in the repo. Using the Ubuntu package is not advised.

  • I don't want to upset anyone, but is netatalk plugin going to be ported?
I am think to update to OMV 3, because in 2 weeks i will be having enough time to upgrade.
But i have to check how to do my TimeMachine Backups if netatalk is not supported anymore.
Maybe with a docker container or if possible SMB share if TimeMachine supports it.

    @votdev
don't want to be rude, but are you still thinking of porting netatalk?

  • hello :) thank for you hard work !
my problem is, that i don't see openmediavault-wakealarm plugin anymore. On github i see that it is upgraded to omv 3.0 and i think i have seen it in extras few weeks ago :)

OMV 3 up to 3.0.13 didn't change much from OM V 2.x. So, the plugin worked with those versions. After 3.0.13, there were major changes and I need to reduce the number of plugins I was maintaining. wakealarm is one of the plugins that I didn't want to maintain anymore.

  • i was looking to see if anyone was updating a few plugins i use before i update to omv 3. and it seems cptjhmiller has updated subsonic.
i'm not sure how to make sure it's updated other than comparing subsonic on github with a working plugin for omv 3 on github.

It does to my newb eyes look like he has updated the files to work with omv 3?
Sorry if i'm wrong, i'm going to look into updating plugins as there's a few i'm missing to be able to update to omv 3.

Definitely not finished, I was attempting to find a way of installing the various subsonic type installations in 1 plugin but this does not seam possible.

Did you look at the commits? This makes it very easy to see what changed.

ok just figured that part out, i'll look at a working plugin and see what has been edited and see if i can duplicate that.
I was more thinking of comparing, both packages. like using an app compare to see all the changes. thats what i use to use when building roms for android.
You may regret asking what you could help with. lol
