    • Installing OMV 3.0.25 on a BananaPi

      Hello!
Since I trashed my OMV 1.19 installation by upgrading it to 3.xx I decided to do a complete reinstall. I am using a BananaPI. First I unplugged all the HDDs, than I flashed Bananian 16.04 on the SD-card, it's a based on Debian 8/Jessie.
Than I tried to follow this tutorial but instead of intalling stoneburner I tried to install erasmus. I got stuck at the install openmediavault part though. ?(

      Source Code

      1. root@BanaNAS ~ # apt-get install openmediavault
      2. Reading package lists... Done
      3. Building dependency tree
      4. Reading state information... Done
      5. Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
      6. requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
      7. distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
      8. or been moved out of Incoming.
      9. The following information may help to resolve the situation:
      10. The following packages have unmet dependencies:
      11. openmediavault : Depends: systemd but it is not installable
      12. Depends: systemd-sysv but it is not installable
      Display All

No systemd? I tried to install it:

      Source Code

      1. root@BanaNAS ~ # apt-get install systemd
      2. Reading package lists... Done
      3. Building dependency tree
      4. Reading state information... Done
      5. Package systemd is not available, but is referred to by another package.
      6. This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
      7. is only available from another source
      8. However the following packages replace it:
      9. libsystemd-dev
      10. E: Package 'systemd' has no installation candidate
      Display All

If I understand the problem correctly, Bananian doesn't come with systemd but with something else. No packages are being held btw. I could install systemd after I deleted the file /etc/apt/preferences.d/systemd. I found the tip for it here
Afterwards I could install OMV without a problem.

Maybe this helps fellow BananaPi user. If I did something horribly wrong please enlighten me :)
      Cheers plissk3n

    • German below:
Well if works for me right now. Should I switch to Armbian to avoid future problems? What's the difference between Armbian and Bananian? Aren't they both Debian derivates?
