HP Proliant ML310 G3 won't boot GRUB - Ubuntu works fine

Using an addon RocketRAID card for system and data drives. I got OMV installed, however when I try to boot, it loops. I don't even see GRUB.

If I install Ubuntu Desktop 12.04, it boots fine. I get GRUB and I can even choose OMV and boot that.

It appears the GRUB coming with OMV 0.4 is crashing or failing in a way to cause the system to reboot. I won't have this system for long, once I get it working it's out of my hands. So there's not a lot I can try, but I did play around with any and all BIOS and addon card BIOS settings I could think to try.

That jives with my thoughts as well. So I just left Ubuntu installed (hey, it's handy to have around!) and use https://launchpad.net/grub-customizer to select the default option that is OMV.
