RSync run automatically on a regular basis

  • Hey,

Oh, but do your German thing if you want. I'm just saying you are limiting your audience. And it's not like the Germans already managed to solve this issue, right? ;)

    Have you tried this:

P.S. You know that if you post your questions in English on an international board, it will greatly increase your chances of getting a helpful reply?

Nobody is limiting anyone. As far as iam concerned. there are no rules here about which language should be used. So feel free to use either english or german!

I use translate.google.com all the time. I usually don't reply to the german messages but I can read them.

  • You guys can use whatever language you prefer! Use Swahili if you want. I'm just saying that if you use anything else but English, you are limiting your audience. I thought that was obvious, but apparently it's a sensitive topic...

In this case I stopped following this thread the moment it went German, which is a pity, because I think I have a possible solution.

So why don't you translate your solution or post in English?? Worst case, they have to use a translator.

Let's get this thread back on topic, please.

I did, before everyone got their panties in a twist, at the end of Page 1 :) But for some reason more attention went to my P.S...

I thought you had another solution. His problem is that the rsync job is not running between two local shares. Your solution, while helpful, has to do with rsync to a remote server.

All I can think is that there is a permission problem the destination share.

  • Just to settle this. This is a local rsync job like Ryeco said. So Tom's solution does not apply to Kutsche's problem. Kutsche's picture is small but you can see that he put checkmark by every Nth minute and every Nth hour. Volker noticed this and told him to take checkmark off the Nth minute. But Volker must not have noticed that he had selected the Day in the job. Because the Day, Monday, was selected Kutsche did not need a checkmark in either the Nth minute or the Nth hour. So solution was to take both checkmarks off then Kutsche's job will run fine.

I take that back on Volker. It looks like he meant both, "Jede Nte Minute/Stunde" but maybe it was not clear.
Recursive should probably be checked too.

ownership for the folders should be root:users recursively.
