Hi,
Ich hab eben mal OMV 3 testweise installiert und kann bei den Extras das dnsmasq Plugin nicht finden. OMVExtras ist installiert. Gibt's das Plugin noch nicht für die 3er Version?

It has not been ported and will not be ported by me. It doesn't seem like anyone is going to pick it up either.
why not?.
Is very usefull for users like me that have the default router and do not have a good DNS or DHCP reservation.
Ich hatte hier dnsmasq changelog gelesen, dass es bereits Version 3.0.3 des Plugins gibt und es kompatibel mit OMV 3 ist.

Because I don't have much time and it would take a lot of time to port to OMV 3.0.13+. Plus, I don't use the plugin.

It was ported to OMV 3.0 but then there were a lot of changes in 3.0.13 that it is not compatible with. See comment above.
I need this plugin too
Pxe isn't working without DnsMasq.
You can still install dnsmasq. You will just have to configure it manually. Plenty of howtos on the internet for that. You could also get a different router that allows you to specify a tftp server to dhcp clients.
I know, but I prefer the GUI.
It's easier.

I agree but that plugin is a pain in the ass to port.
I just installed dnsmasq manually, but can't get it to start.
sudo service dnsmasq start
Job for dnsmasq.service failed. See 'systemctl status dnsmasq.service' and 'journalctl -xn' for details.
user1@server:~$ systemctl status -o cat dnsmasq.service

info:
Did you configure it first?
Yes. But I think I missed something.
I enabled TFTP in the dnsmasq.conf, is that right?
What do you mean by "enabled tftp in dnsmasq.conf"? Do you have the tftp plugin enabled in the omv web interface?
Yes.
The dnsmasq.conf has the option to enable TFTP in there too.
I don't have the example of the dnsmasq.conf to mirror to.
I don't think you want to enable dnsmasq's tftp server. It would conflict with the one in OMV's web interface.
I disabled tftp in the .config, but it still doesn't work.
i look your steps to reproduce on my side, I'm interesting in a working dnspluging too.
I tried this several attempts, but no luck.
I need somebody upload an OMV2 dnsmasq's config or somebody post a solution would be great.
Is TFTP root path should be tftp-root=/srv/tftp/ or the pxe folder on the data drive?
Is there any other (GUI) DNS/DHCP server available in OMV3?
Not having any kind of DNS/DHCP server in OMV 3 would be really a show-stopper for me and a reason to either remain on OMV2 or switch to another NAS OS.
Of course one could always configure it manually. But there's already a lot that has to be configured manually (i.e. no more Virtualbox-gui) so that I could also just install a headless debian server...
