Three OMV builds

  • I've been mostly lurking for the past few years but wanted to share my three builds that I've done.

The first was in April of 2014.
I took a Circa 2009 Atom 330 Tiny computer that a small company on a tiny budget was using as a workstation and turned it in to an OMV NAS
    Specs:
    Intel Atom 330
    2GB Memory
8GB Lexar Professional 800x Compact Flash card
Syba Compact Flash to Sata adapter
    Western Digital 750GB Hard Drive
Very Small Case (no pictures right now) and a Pico 90W Power supply

It's been running great since 2014, even with power failures (I worry about the CF card but it's been fine) and it's current uptime is 113 Days and it serves about 7 computers.

    ---------------------------------

The next one, also for a small business, is a Dell PowerEdge T20

    Intel Xeon E3-1225 v3 3.2Ghz
    8GB DDR3 Memory
    120GB OS Drive
    1TB Data Drive
    DVD-RW Drive

It serves 9 people and other then not telling them who has an MS Office document locked, it's been working great since July

    -----------------------------

The third is for my house and just went up yesterday.

I built it out of a spare computer for Media/Data.

    AMD Athlon II X2 255
    4GB Memory
    500GB Spinner OS Drive
    1x 2TB Drive
    2x 1TB Drives
Several other used 1TB Drives that I plan on adding as soon as I figure out if they are okay.
3x 3TB SAS Drives that I need a SAS cable for to use.

This also has Plex and BitTorrent plugins installed and so far I'm loving it.
