Group External Drives

What I'd like to do is group all of my external / internal drives under one drive letter / volume. I thought LVM would do it but I must be missing something as I can create them under volume group but then it doesn't show up anywhere as a storage option.. Please help.

PS.

This is my first experience with linux so be gentle and explain things like I am a two year old.

While LVM can do that, you would be better off with the unionfilesystem plugin. You need to have omv-extras installed.

Plus it doesn't hurt to mount the drives not just add them
