Hi, I would like to clone the OMV system disk from HD to SSD. After I have moved, is there anything I should do additionally? Some settings of the system to be adjusted?
Thanks
Macom
Clone system disk from HD to SSD
-
- OMV 2.x

Normally the Device UUIDs are set in the /etc/fstab
You have to change that for the new SSD to boot it afterwards -

Depending on the source and destination size, you could expand the partition to use the rest of the ssd. Are you using clonezilla?

Yes, I am using clonezilla. Booting is ok. All drives are there.
Do I need to edit fstab for noatime or anything else?

Do I need to edit fstab for noatime or anything else?
Sure. noatime is good. Shouldn't need anything else. To OMV, you are using the same drive.

Is it correct this way?
root@hawk:/etc# cat fstab
# /etc/fstab: static file system information.
#
# Use 'blkid' to print the universally unique identifier for a
# device; this may be used with UUID= as a more robust way to name devices
# that works even if disks are added and removed. See fstab(5).
#
# <file system> <mount point> <type> <options> <dump> <pass>

# swap was on /dev/sda5 during installation

# <<< [openmediavault] -
No. Post your current fstab. Also, don't change the openmediavault section since it will be overwritten. If you want noatime on a data drive, you need to add it to the mntent section in /etc/openmediavault/config.xml and then omv-mkconf fstab.

above is the current fstab, just edited "noatime" bold and underlined, so that it is visible
-
Ok. The line should be:
UUID=bbacfa6e-3821-485f-86d5-6368dacddf38 / ext4 errors=remount-ro,noatime 0 1
The options in the 4th column have to be separated by commas.

thanks a lot. AGAIN!!!
