No more updates since 2 weeks? (Used Webmin update)

  • Hi,

I think my Update management is broken, cause I don't see any updates since 2 weeks or so. I have OMV 3.0.64.
2 weeks ago an OMV update was not possible in OMV Web GUI, so I did the update in Webmin where it worked, but since there I can't see any new updates in OMV.
What do you think the problem could be and how can I fix it?

Post the output of: apt-get update

My update management has been broken for a while. I'm still on 1.19 and would like to update.

You need to update to OMV 2.x from the command line. omv-release-upgrade

    omv 7.0.5-1 sandworm | 64 bit | 6.8 proxmox kernel

    plugins :: omvextrasorg 7.0 | kvm 7.0.13 | compose 7.1.4 | k8s 7.1.0-3 | cputemp 7.0.1 | mergerfs 7.0.4

omv-extras.org plugins source code and issue tracker - github - changelogs

  • apt-get update:

That looks fine. Does apt-get dist-upgrade show any updates?

  • Now it seems to be working again. I was albe to update to OMV 3.0.65 now. Is that the latest?
Do you know how I can check and install that updates automatically everyday at a certain time?

    Is that the latest?

    Yes.

Do you know how I can check and install that updates automatically everyday at a certain time?

Yes but I don't think you should do it. There is no need to install updates everyday on a NAS. Once a month is probably fine unless you are having problems.

I just don't want to do it by myself everytime.

Why? I do. What if something goes wrong?

I updated from command line, and many things started breaking (SMB shares, other errors) that I decided a clean install would do me some good. I just did that on a new TS140, and all is working smoothly (on 2.2, not 3.0; I'm a little hesitant to move to 3.0 now).

However, now my available RAM is only showing 3.69GB, but I have 12GB installed and recognized in BIOS. Why would that be?

    Why would that be?

You probably use the i386 ISO instead of the amd64 ISO.
