Worked on the first try on my machine. Just use my compiled module (needs the 4.9 kernel):

    wget http://omv-extras.org/testing/tn40xx.ko.gz
    gunzip tn40xx.ko.gz
    sudo cp tn40xx.ko /lib/modules/4.9.0-0.bpo.2-amd64/kernel/drivers/net/

    omv 7.0.5-1 sandworm | 64 bit | 6.8 proxmox kernel

    plugins :: omvextrasorg 7.0 | kvm 7.0.13 | compose 7.1.4 | k8s 7.1.0-3 | cputemp 7.0.1 | mergerfs 7.0.4

  • Yes I rebooted it.

Here is the Output of ifconfig. It seems the network card is not there:

  • modprobe tn40xx has an error:

  • Here comes this out of this one:

But i made that what you told me before:

There is a mismatch version in between the kernel and headers.

    Run apt-get update

    Then
    apt-get dist-upgrade

So I don't know what it has now

  • Yes of course

You need the 4.9.0-0.bpo.2 kernel for the module I compiled. You have 4.9.0-0.bpo.1 installed.

I didn't see the apt-cache command output at the end. You missed an important part of his command which means you didn't add the backports repo. You typed:

    echo "deb http://httpredir.debian.org/debian jessie-backports main contrib non-free" /etc/apt/sources.list.d/backports.list

    but you need

echo "deb http://httpredir.debian.org/debian jessie-backports main contrib non-free" > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/backports.list (note the greater than symbol after non-free)

    Run that command and then
    apt-get update
    apt-cache policy linux-image-4.9.0-0.bpo.2-amd64
