    • MySQL logrotate error

      Hi,
      I receive a daily e-mail with following content

      /etc/cron.daily/logrotate:error: error running shared postrotate script for '/var/log/mysql.log /var/log/mysql/mysql.log /var/log/mysql/mysql-slow.log /var/log/mysql/error.log 'run-parts: /etc/cron.daily/logrotate exited with return code 1

      This solution does not help

      GRANT RELOAD, SHUTDOWN, PROCESS, SHOW DATABASES, SUPER, LOCK TABLES ON *.* TO 'debian-sys-maint'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY PASSWORD 'xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx'; FLUSH PRIVILEGES;

      Any other idea, how to solve it?
      Thanks

    • Though I thought it is the same I have tried before, it might have done the trick.

      mysqladmin --defaults-file=/etc/mysql/debian.cnf ping

      gives a

      mysqld is alive

      which was not the case before. Let's see if I get the mail today.

      Thanks rmms.

      update: no mail today, working
