the same here...
Same issue here on 3 builds - VMWare 5 - HP N50L - HP Microserver Gen8. All showing held back package Openmediavault.
Any Ideas?
No, this i tried still before...
I think this problem is caused from building the openmediavault package on a newer system. let me build it on an older system and try.
apt-get install --reinstall perl 5.14.2-21+deb7u4
apt-get install --reinstall perl 5.14.2-21+deb7u4
This won't help. The package needs to be built with an older version of the debian package libraries. I just built the package on jessie (I think @votdev builds on Ubuntu 16) and it works fine. Volker just needs to rebuild and upload a new package.
Thank you all for your help.
So we will just wait until new package.

The debian/control file clearly say
so, there is no dependency to a specific version. Don't know what the cause of this problem is.

Yes, I know. The control file was the first thing I checked. Do an apt-cache search perl:any on wheezy and jessie. There is nothing found on wheezy even though it just means any perl package (which is clearly installed). Something about the newer dpkg tools converts a dependency of perl to perl:any. When I built the package on jessie, it works fine on wheezy. Feel free to try it from here - http://omv-extras.org/testing/openmediavault_2.2.14_all.deb

Ahhh, WTF. OK, i will build the package on an older system. This will be the last update for 2.x, it will be EOL now. I think OMV3 MUST be released within the next weeks.
Yeah. Looking happy forward to OMV3 and hope the upgrade process won´t destroy my system

Dear Past, thank you for all the lessons.
Dear Future, I am ready!!!

A fresh install won't destroy your system
A new 2.2.14 package has been uploaded.
That fixed it - Top effort!
Many thanks.
