Richtige Konfiguration des NAS Basic 3.0

Hallo,

ich Lese zwar schon seit einiger zeit in Forum mit, habe mich aber erst jetzt Angemeldet da ich doch noch ein paar Fragen zu meinem kleinen Projekt habe.
Fange mal direkt an...

ASRock J3455-ITX
Arbeitsspeicher 2x 4GB DDR3L-1866
Netzteil 400W
32GB System-SSD
4 TB + 3 TB + 2 TB Western Digital Red
Betriebssystem OpenMediaVault 3.XX

auf dem kleinen sollte PlexMedia Server und Seafile Server laufen.
was würde mehr sin machen, jeweils 1 x HDD für Plex und 1 x HDD für Seafile oder
1 x HDD für Plex und ein Raid 1 für Seafile oder
1 x Raid 5 für beides.

Wenn es ein Raid werden sollte, welches wäre besser, SoftwareRaid oder SnapRAID, natürlich würde ich dann die passende HDD´s noch dazu Kaufen.
Wo besteht der unterschied wenn ich Plex und Seafile oder nur eins davon im Docker laufen lasse.

Bin über eure Meinung, Anregungen, Ideen sehr gespannt.

Hi,

AS you may know, it's a bit more difficult to install OMV on J3455 because the OMV stock kernel doesn't support such recent processor... so, it will install very slowly, after that, just install a > 4.8 kernel and everything work smooth.

For HDD, don't forget RAID configuration will use the size of the smaller hardrive, and everything else is lost.
For RAID 5, it's mean 2TB that you can use...
For RAID 1, 3TB.

Personnally, I use drives without RAID, and I use sync between drives for important datas during the night. At least, all space is available
The avantage of RAID is 0 downtime in case of HDD crash.

About speed, I don't think you'll have better perfs with RAID since the network will probably be slower (80/100MB/s on samba) when a single disk can probably output 150MB/s.

For memory, I doubt 8GB is required. I run a lot of services on my OMV, and it uses ~2GB (over 4GB).
