iscsi target on latest openmediavault

    I've been a user and lurker for a couple years now and I'm using the 2.1/2.2 version of openmediavault. I have stuck with this version because when I last checked a few months ago, iscsi target wasn't working on the 3.x stream of OMV. Has this changed and is this functionality now working in 3.x?

    iscsitarget depends directly on out of tree kernel modules that are supplied in the form of DKMS package. By default omv now installs jessie backport kernel which is 4.9, now with this kernel those modules won't compile/build.
    If you choose downgrade your kernel to default jessie (3.16) iscsitarget should work without issues.
