So FTP works great over my network but I can't seem to get it to work right over my network. I am not sure the best way to do it. I've heard using a VPN is best for security. If I am doing anything wrong please explain the correct way. Currently I am testing port forwarding in passive mode, since I have no idea how to get active mode to work. It works fine over Filezilla over wan, but when I use any other client I run into trouble. Mostly android clients, usually they sit their and load forever my connection is 5 Mbps upload and since Filezilla has it working fine I am not sure what the problem is. Not even sure where to start looking. Maybe there is a better client.
Now I want to use this to distribute backed up data from clients computers so I need an easy way they can configure the ftp setup and use it. They will not be computer savy people.
