Cannot unmount my md0

  • Is there a reason why I cannot unmount my raid drive?

I have 2x4TB drives (sdb and sdc) in raid, its called md0 with a few shares.

I am trying to use extundelete which requires me to umount my drive. But the "mount and unmount" option are greyed out in the file system page.

BTW Photorec doesnt work because it shows source drive as sdb or sdc, but it has to be md0. How do I get it to detect md0?

  • Apparently I have to remove all references to the file system.

services and shares. How can I do them safely and restore them afterwards? I do not want to lose anything.
    Thanks.

  • The services and shares is only to give access to your data. You can remove them and add them back later. The only thing is that you would have to remember all of the references that you remove. Another thing is, when deleting the shared folder, don't do delete shared folder+data. Delete the folder only.
