  • hey all, if i try to add a shared folder to NFS (after i have enabled it) and click "apply" it gives me this error:

Failed to execute command 'export PATH=/bin:/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/sbin; export LANG=C; monit -t 2>&1' with exit code '1': /etc/monit/conf.d/openmediavault-filesystem.conf:11: Service name conflict, fs_srv_dev-disk-by-id-ata-WDC_WD5000AAKX-083CA1_WD-WCAYUEC80944-part1 already defined '"/srv/dev-disk-by-id-ata-WDC_WD5000AAKX-083CA1_WD-WCAYUEC80944-part1"' /etc/monit/conf.d/openmediavault-filesystem.conf:16: Service name conflict, fs_srv_dev-disk-by-id-ata-WDC_WD5000AAKX-083CA1_WD-WCAYUEC80944-part1 already defined '"/srv/dev-disk-by-id-ata-WDC_WD5000AAKX-083CA1_WD-WCAYUEC80944-part1"' /etc/monit/conf.d/openmediavault-filesystem.conf:21: Service name conflict, fs_srv_dev-disk-by-id-ata-WDC_WD5000AAKX-083CA1_WD-WCAYUEC80944-part1 already defined '"/srv/dev-disk-by-id-ata-WDC_WD5000AAKX-083CA1_WD-WCAYUEC80944-part1"' /etc/monit/conf.d/openmediavault-filesystem.conf:26: Service name conflict, fs_srv_dev-disk-by-id-ata-WDC_WD5000AAKX-083CA1_WD-WCAYUEC80944-part1 already defined '"/srv/dev-disk-by-id-ata-WDC_WD5000AAKX-083CA1_WD-WCAYUEC80944-part1"' /etc/monit/conf.d/openmediavault-filesystem.conf:31: Service name conflict, fs_srv_dev-disk-by-id-ata-WDC_WD5000AAKX-083CA1_WD-WCAYUEC80944-part1 already defined '"/srv/dev-disk-by-id-ata-WDC_WD5000AAKX-083CA1_WD-WCAYUEC80944-part1"'

    what should i do?

  • Service name conflict, fs_srv_dev-disk-by-id-ata-WDC_WD5000AAKX-083CA1_WD-WCAYUEC80944-part1 already defined

    Hi,
I would say you have already defined some kind of share for that shared folder or tried to define more than one shared folder for the same folder on a disk.

    OMV 3.0.100 (Gray style)

    ASRock Rack C2550D4I C0-stepping - 16GB ECC - 6x WD RED 3TB (ZFS 2x3 Striped RaidZ1) - Fractal Design Node 304 -

    3x WD80EMAZ Snapraid / MergerFS-pool via eSATA - 4-Bay ICYCube MB561U3S-4S with fan-mod

  • First of all it is not recommended to create a shared folder on the root of a drive, although this is possible. Always create and use a sub directory for that. It has to do with permissions. (Not knowing if you have done this, only as a precaution!).

Right now I have no access to the WebUI of my Nas. So I can´t do any tests. I remember in the past I have tried to create two SMB shares on the same shared folder accidentally. This has generated a similar error message as you wrote.

I don´t know If it is forbidden to create a SMB and a NFS share on the same shared folder. I was never using NFS with OMV.

For testing purposes you could move your samba share to a different shared folder in order to remove the reference to the 'old' shared folder. Then try to create a NFS share on this folder.
