Thanks, this is what I expected. No problem.
One (?) more bug (not omvextras): the memory bar in the dashboard doesn't work, in the syslog I get hundreds of error messages stating that rrdcache plugin can't connect (sorry, do not remember the exact wording) and after approx. 10min the server shuts down without further notice. Haven't read about this before so maybe related to my set-up.
100% reproducible and repeatable for me yesterday.
Hello,
one month has passed since the last post...
So there are no issues or no one who has tested arrakis...
Something else to mention when I´m going to upgrade to arrakis?
Thanks Scarface
@Scarface, my upgrade path wasn't smooth, on my HP microserver i consisently got "failed to read file" errors when upgrading to arrakis. i couldn't reproduce the issue in virtualbox though, so it may be specific to my configuration. i stayed on 3.0.x for my baremetal server for now
Error: "Failed to read file '/tmp/bgstatusfs2WVj' (size=0)."
@molnart Ok, thanks for the fast reply.
What will happen to my Data when I disconnect all HDDs, do a clean install of OMV4 on a new Stick and reconnect mey Data HDDs?
I will have to install the Snapraid auf unionfilesystem Plugin surely, but will these plugins recognize my Data?
So I would have a backup of my running System on the old Stick without any risk.
Hi is there any owncloud plugin on omv 4?
is there any owncloud plugin on omv 4?
nope. It was discontinued long before OMV 3.x was released.
Are there any plans to have 4.0 versions of sabnzbd, sonarr and radarr plugins? I have to do a fresh install soon, and I think those are the only ones I am not seeing (on omv-extras.org anyway).

@jhmiller has said he thinks people should use docker instead of porting them.
Sounds like a plan, thanks!
I found this web-side by accident and it's about using Docker under Synology. Maybe these how-tos help you to set-up your needed programs under Docker and OMV. I guess there's not a big difference by setting up Docker under DSM or OMV.
One quick question, now that I am thinking about it though. What is the upgrade path going to look like for people using the OMV plugins in 3.x when they upgrade to 4.x? Will those plugins stop working, or just stop being maintained?
Let's say I install 3.x today, and use the plugins. When 4.x comes around (officially in some sense), do I need to backup all of my data, uninstall the plugins, and set everything up in docker?
Thanks for all the help!

The plugins that have been ported upgrade ok for me. Otherwise, there are plenty of plugins that work on 3.x and 4.x right now. Hard to say. I am pretty much the only one maintaining plugins right now.
Thanks, ryecoaaron. In no way did I want it to come off frustrated, I really appreciate all the work you do, and I am sure everyone on here does as well.
I am sure this will be a question that gets asked a lot as soon as 4.0 is announced as I assume most people using OMV use some combination of sab( or nzbget)/sonarr/radarr/couchpotato, etc. Just trying to figure out the best path for a fresh install that I will be doing this weekend.
I am having some issues going to 4, how can i remove couchpotato package?

I don't jhmiller who maintains those plugins thinks people should go to docker instead of porting the plugins to OMV 4.x.

This is a python bug and not a problem either.
I just got an extremely bad experience with docker i installed nextcloud, had some issues deleted the image and lost all data from my RAID, everything gone, seems the container was linked under volumes to my raid and decided to empty everything.
You can use this guide to install NextCloud on OMV4.
There are some configs that need to be change; read the thread first: page 13-14.
