problem with usb serial on rpi3 with latest 3.0.88 image

  • Hello,
I'm having problems with usb serial in the latest image for raspberry, 3.0.88. I have my usb-serial adapters working in a raspberry that runs 3.0.63 image.
Today I installed new 3.0.88 image on other rpi3 and they don't work. 'lsusb' and 'dmesg' show that usb are being recognized ok, but they aren't mounted as ttyUSBx as usual.
I checked modules.conf loading on init and added usbserial but no luck....will try to update my old 3.0.63 to the latest and try to check if it is a kernel problem.
    Any one could check it?
    Greentings,
    David.

Has to be a kernel change. Maybe the module was available on an older kernel but not newer ones?? Not much we can do since we use the normal RPi kernel. You could find which kernel module it is using in 3.0.63 and look to see if that is available in the kernel config on the newer images.
