Hi guys 
I have added a new drive to one of my servers so as to backup files from the others so that they can be reformatted with zfs..
I know I can do this via a windows or linux computer but it shouldn't make a difference if I boot the computer in question from a live cd and back it up from that....
If I add the extra drive via web interface with zfs and activate compression...is that still active via a live cd?
Just trying to cut down on unnecessary computers running while backing up files on same server....
