i recently bough an Odroid HC1 to use it as a file and media server. For testing purposes, i installed a 64GB SSD. Installed minidnla plugin from plugin store. Put some 2-3 GB avi video files on a share on the disk and configured minidnla to use the share.
Transfer rate from the share to my windows pc was about 50 MB/S. I can shows the file perfectly on my PC by just using VLC or the Windows Store media player when playing the file from the share. Using UPNP with Windows media player also works perfectly. VLC UPNP support on Windows seems to be buggy. No UPNP device is detected (even after 10 minutes) 
Ok, next i started with VLC on IOS 11 (on my 5s).Playing directly from fileshare was also great. But via UPNP the video stutters all the time. I tried a different player (PlayerExtreme) and did not suffer from the bad experience with VLC.
What do you think? Not a minidnla issue?
