[Disappeared] OMV broken? Freezes after Login

  • Hi,
as of today my OMV is "broken". It lets me login as admin, but afterwards when it displays the "services" and "system" boxes it says loading within these boxes and then after a while it says "communication error".
I can login by ssh. I've rebooted, but nothing helps. At one try the upper box filled with live but then again "freezes". I can use the menue tree on the left side. It updates the content area on the right with corresponding boxes, but none of those is filled. Always "loading" and then "communication error". Since the web-interface isn't useable, I can't tell you the exact OMV-version I'm running.
    Any hint? Thx!

PS: When it freezes, it also freezes my Firefox 57.0.1 ! That's heavy stuff. I have to "kill" FF.
PPS: If you need logfiles, let me know

  • Are you sure it is not your computer it self? I dont how it could freeze your entire firefox.

Probably by these communication error popup scripts, but in fact: I don't know. You can wait some 30 seconds, then FF comes back to live or you can kill it. But it doesn't fill the boxes or anything.

  • empty the cache of your browser and delete the cookies.
    Ping the server.
Try it from another PC or browser.

Tested Cache & Cookies: seem to be irrelevant.
Pinging works (as said: ssh works too)
Safari from iPhone via WLAN works! No problems. Anybody else with problems using webinterface of OMV by FF 57? Strangely: It worked until last week...?!?

Each time same symptoms: Login works, but infoboxes are not filled. Instead "LOading" and then "comm error". But comm seems to work, since I can login....strange

  • Please activate the browser developer tools and post the error message if one appears.

    I think it's this:

Laden fehlgeschlagen für das <script> mit der Quelle "blob:https://[---]/618b75cd-7dd6-430e-ae9b-b883deda4c80".
Content Security Policy: Die Einstellungen der Seite haben das Laden einer Ressource auf blob:https://[---]/618b75cd-7dd6-430e-ae9b-b883deda4c80 blockiert ("default-src https://[---] 'unsafe-inline' 'unsafe-eval'").

    which means
Loading failed for script with source "..."
CSP: Properties of page have blocked loading a resource from blob:...

    [---] changed manually

  • Do you have installed a plugin? If yes, uninstall it and report a bug. You are using HTTPS, so everything loaded that does not come from your NAS is blocked because of the Content Security Policy. This is a wanted behaviour.

    3 part answer:

    1. I've installed nginx-plugin and placed TinyWebGallery in there. Since TWG required glib, I've added it manually (see TinyWebGallery-misses-GD-Lib). Afterwards TWG worked and OMV worked too.

    2. As I said, login screen comes up and let me log in. Menubar on the left side fills and reacts on mouse clicks. Content frame also reacts on menu action, presenting coorrespondent boxes. But it didn't fill the boxes. Especially concerning the dashboard view: Even if some plugin would pull informations from out of my LAN, how should this break the dashboard view? And if so, how should I uninstall a plugin, if none of the boxes in the content ever fills?

    3. It came from outer space and there it went! Today there is no problem: boxes fill! I wanted to follow your advice, while not knowing how (see 2.). But the problem disappeared. I've opened WebConsole again and the error with that loading failed for script "blob:https://[---]/618b75cd-7dd6-430e-ae9b-b883deda4c80" is still there (with a changed id). So this error does not seem to prevent the boxes from filling. (Whatever this blob-thing might be)
