What is the best backup practice

    I want periodically backup some of my smb shares. Is it better to do this with software from my windows laptop that connects via gigabit ethernet to the NAS and synchronise the samba folders, or do it locally from within the OMV installation

    To be honets, i dont know.


    What i was doing on my old freenas was to compress data and rsync them to hubic.


    What i am planning to do for my futur openmediavault nas, is to use the plugins OPENMEDIAVAULT-DUPLICATI for critical non local backup to hubic
    and to used an old qnap nas for full local backup
