Why the heck, as a long time user, does my posting in Plugins needs to be aproved by an admin?

  • So if I ask for help or having a plugin problem, nobody sees it until an admin aproves my qustion or finding?

I feel that is very stange. 8o?(

Or did I do something wrong in here for getting this restriction?

Or is it maybe because I did edit my post kind of 25 times, rahter than posting my try and error findings as answers to my question?

And, since I now found the problem to the problem after searching the net for 3 days now, I wanted to add the code from that broken file. BUT the forum tells me, my contribution is TO long, (exceeding 10.000 chars) well, that char count should ignor code, dont you guys think so?

    Cheers
    Manne

  • Yes, I also see this issue. We already talked about it:

How long is a user banned for multiple posting?

  • thanks, but still, What the f--- äh heck....

thats just stupid. sometimes you start to correkt some typos. then stumble about something in the post, that makes you test some stuff, so your back a minute later and add some infos. then your ->moderated<- (short for banned)? that makes no f... sense. maybe I should add a second user, mannebk2 to asnwer my own questions w/o getting moderated :-D.

Therer are other "filters" that would catch a spamer, and not hinder users.

oh yes, and I did edit this post a few times, so lets see when it will be moderated again

but it seams i have to punch out a few edits?

  • Yep, that’s it. If you edit your post to fast, your post gets moderated. I also do this a lot to correct typos. I use tapatalk primarily and typos happen very often at the little smart phone touch display. :(

  • 2x21“? It’s time for some bigger ones! ;)

Sometimes I only edit my posts 3 (maybe 5) times and it also gets moderated. It’s simply ugly to wait one day to be able to post again.

But I know of this behavior and I live with it. By the way... This is the only forum I know of with this behavior.

  • "Honey,,, I need to buy bigger monitors!"

well i got 4 25" DP screens, and still do typos, maybe most of em becaus im a legastenic, and even better in English than in my native deutsch.

and I did not edit it 25 times. and, how do I post a code that contains more than 10.000 chars? split it on 2 users or two submitts?

This is the only forum I know of with this behavior

    dito.
and I operate a blog and webpage, and yes I was once a casualty of bots posting porn spam, but only once, then we fixed the guest permissions for leaving product recommendations of xtc-modified. :)

well, i think, users with some history should be exempted from "junk filtering". If, their account gets hacked due to shitty passwords or their own hardware being compromised, that's a totally different story, and easy to fix. just kill all posts of that one user. i am so annoyed by systems trying to fix the last 5% and therefore punishing the 95% ordinary guys using the system.

the other day I had to complete this capt-cha system where you have to click on pictures if they contain roads or cars or stroes etc. due to the fact that I was using the current online pc via RDP, they made me pass the cycle for about 10 minutes each time before they let me pass as a human being. so after this shop asked me a third time for captcha authentication, i wrote an email to the operator of that shop, that I now spent the 2500 bucks for parts at an other store, as my time is to precious to cope with such bs.

IMHO the first goal is NOT to prevent spam, its to make the user happy. of course preventing spam is part of that. but the mix is the key.

some hours back, i was an unhappy user.

  • @mannebk I also saw this issue after some of my posts from the omv forum webui.

    * If you press the „x“ in the upper right, you get back to your post, you post again only to see that message again,
    * If you refresh the webui after leaving the error window you can see that your post is already posted.

I also know this message and behavior from this forum only.

  • usually a bouquet helps :D
or doing the loundry, or what ever she hates, for a couple of weeks.

u know, u need to earn some points *g* (google: demerit points)

lucky me: my businesse pays the tech bill, so usually my wife works overtime for the points to get a new laptop... ROFL. While I just buy what I want to work with. But then, Im swabian, so here I am working @home on a desktop system alsmost 10 years old. omg, I just checkt it out, I bought that Athlon II X2 in early 2010, its indeed almost a decade old, still working like a charm. But still, this workstation also got 2 viseo 230Ws 23" screens. :) and I dont do gaming, no sense in spending lots of money for hardware to run putty
