Create Raid dosn't Work

  • I'm trying to build a NAS that has the following specifications

It is built in a wooden box

On the front and in the back is Plexglas, which has ventilation holes

On the back is a 92mm fan and a 250W power adapter mounted

Installer are 2 hard drives with 4 GB of storage space (SATA WD Blue) and connected to a USB hub (external power supply)

The USB hub is connected to a Raspberry PI 3 Model B with a cooling system (active and passive). The fan is a 40mm fan

When I start setting up the raid (mirroring), he falls into the status
of Clean, Degraded "after about 18 hours, and the creation of the raid
takes a long time (usually over 7 days)

The hard disks are partitioned in the GPT (no active partitions)

It does not seem to be a temperature problem, the temperature is always between 32-34 degrees

    What is going wrong here?

Thank you for the help, I am grateful for every problem to solve the problem.

Setting up RAID on a Raspberry PI, or with USB enclosures, is highly discouraged and not supported. There are too many problems associated with it. Of course you're free to do as you like but the total loss of all your data is a very real possibility.

My recommendation is to use either single disks or use Rsync to copy Disk 1 to Disk 2. That would give you real backup up, something that RAID is NOT.
