Depends. Why do you want to replace unionfs? snapraid really has nothing to do with unionfs or lvm. It provides redundancy and bit rot protection. Just remember that if you have a LVM volume group spanning multiple physical volumes and the logical volume spans multiple drives, losing one drive will cause you to lose everything. While I use it for plenty of things, I don't recommend the average home user use LVM.
