Install on Deb 9

I apologize for my ignorance but I am wanting to install OMV on a Debian 9 (minimum install) PC running at home. I was viewing this install post, but I am not sure about how to create/execute the shell scripts. I am quite a novice with linux. Do I

#sudo nano whatever1

then insert the lines of the first script, exactly as written, save the script, then run the script with

#./whatever1

Then do the same for the second script? I am sorry to need such basic guidance. Thank you for your attention and assistance.

You don't need to create any scripts. The "shell scripts" in that post are for formatting. You just need to cut and paste the commands.
