One Filesystem not mounted

    • OMV 4.x
    • Upgrade 3.x -> 4.x
    • One Filesystem not mounted

      Hi there!

I just upgraded my NAS to OMV 4 via omv-release-upgrade! All goes well except one thing...one of my disks wont get mounted in filesystems....the button to mount the filesystem is greyed out.

It was an ext4 formatted drive.

Pls anyone helpt me to get this mounted without losing files.

    • The first line indicates that there is a mount configuration for a filesystem, but the filesystem itself seems not to exist anymore. That's why no information is displayed for this filesystem in this row.

      I must not fear.
      Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
      I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.

    • According to the blkid output all 6 filesystems (except the swap partition) are displayed correctly in the UI. Can you post the output of

    • The filesystem with the UUID=0e660da4-eb3d-40dd-a4a6-abd55685f62a is configured but not available in your system anymore. Is this a USB device or did you manually format one of your existing devices without using the UI?

You can remove the mount point configuration if you remove all referencing shared folders.

    • It is available in my system. I see it unter Drives Tab. It is a normal Harddrive and worked like a charm till the update. I haven´t formatted it.

I have removed the corresponding Shared Folder under SMB and under Shared Folders (Freigegebene Ordner Tab). Under Shared Folder in Use i can´t see the drive.

The buttons to mount or unmount the drive are greyed out. Only delete is available...see screenshot

    • But as you can see in the blkid output, the filesystem is NOT detected by the kernel. I know about another user with the same problem after switching from Debian 8 to 9. We (the OMV project) can not do anything here because this is an Debian or kernel issue. If the underlaying system does not detect this filesystem, then OMV can not process it. Sorry.

    • So, what does this mean? I cannot upgrade to OMV 4 or have to wait for a new kernel?

I just switched back to OMV 3 with Clonezilla and everything works like a charm.
