For me is late. Maybe tomorrow we can continue
Thank you.
Sorry when you said done I thought you got it working. So did this work?
apt-get --yes --auto-remove --show-upgraded --allow-downgrades --allow-change-held-packages --no-install-recommends --option Dpkg::Options::="--force-confdef" --option DPkg::Options::="--force-confold" --allow-unauthenticated install postfix openmediavault
The same result:
:/home/joao# apt-get --yes --auto-remove --show-upgraded --allow-downgrades --allow-change-held-packages --no-install-recommends --option Dpkg::Options::="--force-confdef" --option DPkg::Options::="--force-confold" --allow-unauthenticated install postfix openmediavault Reading package lists... Done N: Ignoring file 'openmediavault.list ' in directory '/etc/apt/sources.list.d/' as it has an invalid filename extension E: Unable to locate package openmediavault |
Since I have difficulties with linux, can you explain me step by step, what to do with the scripts provided here: https://forum.openmediavault.org/index.php/Thread/21234-Install-OMV4-on-Debian-9-Stretch/.
If I can not get past this, I can always go back to my previous installation: OMV4 standalone.
Are you running as root?
You are on the last 2 steps. The step above is trying to install omv. You are doing an "unsupported" install but it should work. I am trying to guess what is going on.
The last step would be. omv-initsystem
yes as root and:
root@debian-omv:/home/joao# omv-initsystem bash: omv-initsystem: command not found |
N: Ignoring file 'openmediavault.list' in directory '/etc/apt/sources.list.d/' as it has an invalid filename extension is the problem. So lets remove and remake that.
rm /etc/apt/sources.list.d/openmediavault.list
Did that remove the file?
removed.
what i have to do next?
Ok apt-get install postfix . That should install or say it is already.
nano /etc/apt/sources.list.d/openmediavault.list
Paste this line in it.deb packages.openmediavault.org/public arrakis main
Then exit and save. control key and x
Then try apt-get --yes --auto-remove --show-upgraded --allow-downgrades --allow-change-held-packages --no-install-recommends --option Dpkg::Options::="--force-confdef" --option DPkg::Options::="--force-confold" --allow-unauthenticated install openmediavault
Wait formating sucks.
Use the text from here. http://paste.debian.net/1026271
the first command gives me:
:/home/joao# apt-get --yes --auto-remove --show-upgraded --allow-downgrades --allow-change-held-packages --no-install-recommends --option Dpkg::Options::="--force-confdef" --option DPkg::Options::="--force-confold" --allow-unauthenticated install openmediavault E: Malformed entry 1 in list file /etc/apt/sources.list.d/openmediavault.list (URI parse) E: The list of sources could not be read. E: Malformed entry 1 in list file /etc/apt/sources.list.d/openmediavault.list (URI parse) E: The list of sources could not be read. |
Can i continue with: Use the text from here. paste.debian.net/1026271 ?
yes
:/home/joao# deb http://downloads.sourceforge.n…t/openmediavault/packages arrakis partner bash: deb: command not found |
Put that in the openmediavault.list file.
Then apt-get clean all
done, and ..
Run the apt-get from that link.
apt-get clean all
ok
Did apt-get install work?
Do you mean i must run line 5 from Pastzone?
yes
:/home/joao# apt-get --yes --auto-remove --show-upgraded --allow-downgrades --allow-change-held-packages --no-install-recommends --option Dpkg::Options::="--force-confdef" --option DPkg::Options::="--force-confold" --allow-unauthenticated install Reading package lists...
