Adding own graphs to rrdtool in OMV (especially ping)

I would like to add an own graph with pings to the OMV rrdtool site (and maybe also others) so that I know when a specific host was up or down. I've seen that collectd offers a ping plugin but I don't know how to correctly add that into the configuration of OMV. Has anyone already done that or something similar?
