Ever since a reboot about 2 weeks ago I have been unable to access one of the disks.
I see a number of different errors on boot up and I'm not sure if they are related.
First I see hid-generic 0003:046E:6000:0002: usb_submit_urb(ctrl) failed -1.
Some other forums suggest this might be BIOS related, but I also see
modprobe: module microcode not found in modules.dep
Later I see messages: ACPI Error [\_SB_.ALIB] Namespace lookup failure, AE_NOT_FOUND
One of the disks definitely has some sort of issue, maybe some I/O errors?
ata3.00 failed command: READ FPDMA QUEUED
A start job is running for /media/6833d2c9-e677-4da0-8022-d6b618526bec ata3: softreset failed (1st FIS failed)
A start job is running for /media/6833d2c9-e677-4da0-8022-d6b618526bec ata3: revalidation failed errno=5
The above start job messages repeat several times covering a time period of about 5 minutes.
Finally I get to the logon prompt on the console.
Command ls for /media/6833d2c9-e677-4da0-8022-d6b618526bec shows no directories or files.
I switched the SATA cable to a different port on the MB but the errors still persist.
Does anyone have any suggestion how to gain access to me disk?
Thanks for any help.
Steve
