I'm curious to know if anyone has tried to get a WinTV-HVR-2250 to work with Plex inside of OMV. And if so, how? I had this running in my old media server very well for OTA and I'm interested in utilizing it for OTA or maybe QAM cable if possible.

My plex install is in my signature.

I'm not a Linux/CLI pro but can follow basic instructions. I've been tossing along the idea of going to a plain Linux distro server but all the manual work isn't really worth it and I'm very comfortable with OMV. It's been so stable it's scary lol. Considering upgrading to v4 in the near future too.

    • Bump. Surely this has to be more common? Not just with my particular card but any card. Like, so I have to set up the VDR server and all to work with Plex? Or am I forced to buy a different interface because I'm using Plex in OMV?

It seems to be less common and since we recommend using plex in a docker, that would complicate using a hardware card even more. Personally, I don't use plex and I use an hdhomerun.

Please read this before posting a question and this and this for docker questions.
Please don't PM for support... Too many PMs!

I was hoping there would be some who went down that road. *sigh* And I've never had good success running a docker in OMV yet. The plugin has been fine, the Docker never worked and the only container I got to work (Emby) won't autorun so I'm not even going to bother. Oh well. I'll find another way. I may just ditch it all and rebuild with Ubuntu server. Seems the best choice since everything I look for or want to do requires so much work, I may as well go to a more open and flexible system.
