Cannot apt-get update - gnutls_handshake failed

  • Hey they,

I moved forward and upgraded my existing omv3 to omv4. Worked without any issues, except I had to remove and reinstall watchdog.

But after installing omv-extras I cannot run apt-get update anymore. Or at least it won't let me:

gnutls_handshake() failed: Public key signature verification has failed.

    For both repos.

    Any ideas?

    openmediavault-keyring is installed.

    Output of apt-get update:

    Output of apt-get list

  • I has something to do with the ssl handshake. I get omv-extras running by forcing http://.

I've noticed that the openssl package was missing for some reasons, but reinstalling changed anyting.

    Code
    dpkg -l | grep libgnutls
ii libgnutls-deb0-28:amd64 3.3.8-6+deb8u7 amd64 GNU TLS library - main runtime library
ii libgnutls-openssl27:amd64 3.5.8-5+deb9u3 amd64 GNU TLS library - OpenSSL wrapper
ii libgnutls30:amd64 3.5.8-5+deb9u3 amd64 GNU TLS library - main runtime library
  • Solved by myself.

It was caused by the exisiting libgnutls-deb0-28 from the jessie repo. I guess it wasn't removed during the omv-release-upgrade process. On other installation it doesn't harm anything, but in my case I had troubles. Removing it also removes openmediavault, but it was easy to reinstall everything in a few steps.
