Uninstall Lightdm

  • Is lightdm somehow needed for OMV?
When booting my nas server, there are few error messages that "lightdm can not be loaded". When I want to uninstall it, apt want some other packages install. Why is that? Is it OK?

    Code
The following packages will be REMOVED:
      light-locker* lightdm*
The following NEW packages will be installed:

Need to get 2,360 kB of archives.
After this operation, 6,779 kB of additional disk space will be used.

    Thank you.

Is lightdm somehow needed for OMV?

Nope. And none of the plugins require it. You must have installed something that had it as a dependency.

    Why is that?

A package installs dependencies. If those dependencies aren't being used by any other package when you uninstall the package, it will remove the dependencies.

    Is it OK?

It should be. I just see a bunch of perl libraries and the screensaver package.
