Why not use the image? https://sourceforge.net/projec…/Raspberry%20Pi%20images/

The RPi is a pain and you are much better off to use the image.

  • I tried to use the image but for some reason I cannot see the web gui,
once typing the ip displayed during the installation, I was getting "page cannot be reached" and check proxy configuration.

once pinging that Ip, I do get results.

so I tried other way- it looks both have issues on my pi

Are you waiting 30+ mins for the image to be ready? Does the rpi have an internet connection when the image is getting ready?

  • hi, I tried once more, and same issue - meaning it was asking me to enter the user name and password after 20 seconds, and then he prompting again to insert the user name and password over and over again, then i waited for more then 30 min - hoping something will change, but it isnt.

for the ssh user/password did not work, it says "access denied"

You need to write the image with etcher, put the card in the rpi, plug it in, and walk away for 30+ mins. Don't try to configure anything. After that, try to login to the web interface to add a user with ssh access or enable root access via ssh.

I don't see anything really wrong other than maybe an nfs issue. You tried going to http://192.168.31.207 in a browser? If that doesn't work, either something is wrong with your network or engined isn't running. You should be able to login as root (password is openmediavault) and take a pic of the output of: systemctl status openmediavault-engined and systemctl status nginx
